SUAMPRIPAD today held a celebration to mark the 31st National Day of Brunei Darussalam.
It began with a parade around the school premises by some 250 students and teachers who had participated in the recent National Day celebration followed by the singing of the national anthem and the hoisting of the national flag.
The school’s principal, Ustazah Hjh Rusidah binti Hj Talip in her speech said the event was aimed at promoting love towards the country as well as to raise the sense of pride, nationalism and patriotism among its students who will become future leaders.
A Thanksgiving Doa in conjunction with National Day was read by Ustaz Hj Zaidin bin Morni while members of SUAMPRIPAD Students’ Council led the school in the reading of the National Day oath.
The event was further enlivened by the singing of a patriotic song titled ‘Generasi Berwawasan’ by the school’s hostel students and a poetry recitation entitled ‘Kemerdekaan’ by Muslimah binti Mahadi,
The highlight of the celebration was the cutting of the National Day cake by the principal. The celebration concluded with recitation of Doa Selamat and Doa Pendinding (prayer for protection) by all the participants.
