Best students award ceremony for Arabic schools 2012

An award ceremony for best students from Arabic schools nationwide was held today to celebrate their achievements in academics and co-curricular activities. The ceremony was held at the prayer hall of Pengiran Anak Puteri Muta-Wakkilah Hayatul Bolkiah Religious School, Serusop.

The ceremony was held to motivate the students to put in more effort in enhancing their results in the future and to be consistent in their studies.

The schools whose students were awarded comprise of the Bandar Seri Begawan Arabic Preparatory School, Belait Arabic School, Sungai Akar Arabic School, Temburong Arabic Preparatory School, Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic Boys Secondary School, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School and Ma’had Islam Brunei.

The guest of honour was Ustazah Dayang Hajah Hasnah binti Haji Omar, Acting Senior Special Duties Officer, Head of Policy, Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA).

In her speech, she said that the students should understand that mastering the study of religious knowledge and the Arabic language together with academic knowledge will open more opportunities for the students so they can determine what career they want to venture in the future.

The chairperson of the event, Dk Hajah Mas Relawati binti Pg Mohd Said, Head of Arabic School Section in her welcoming remarks said, “Alhamdulillah, the committee has evaluated and chosen 133 students from Arabic Schools Nationwide to be awarded as best students this morning.”

The ceremony began with a Tilawah Al-Quran and was followed by welcoming remarks from the event chairperson. This was then followed with a speech by the guest of honour, and later on a Kalam Jamaie performance by students of Ma’had Islam Brunei.

The event continued with the certificate presentation by the guest of honour and concluded with a Doa Selamat.
